This photo was at Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana in 1990. Spellbinder is only 20 years old, He had just wrote his first song in 1989, Material Man, which is featured on the new album. He was at his prime in Skateboarding at this time. He was traveling to San Diego, California and he also attended a yearly event called "Shut up and Skate" contests. After winning a semi-pro contest in Houston, Spellbinder was offered a sales job at YAGA Rags (A Reggea Clothing Company)
He moved to Galveston, Texas at this time. He basically surfed everyday, he lived across from the beach. Working for YAGA Rags, he was able to travel around and experience a free environment with nice income. A whole new world of meeting people, developing business skills and when he came back to Denver after this, he ran a Skateboard shop.

Spellbinder used to perform every Tuesday at Kokopelli's restaurant and bar in Denver, Colorado. This was for about 2 years before Kokopelli's closed. Every Tuesday it was packed, like Saturday night packed. It was Denver's longest weekly Reggae event in history. He shared the stage with numerous artists such as Tito Dell Barrio Malaga, the Flo Bots, Shatta-I, International Dub Squad (the band that used to back Spellbinder), Ebony Lyon, Melissa Ivy, Tempa and the Tantrums. Spellbinder also used to perform in the Hip Hop field with Lokon (A Latino Denver Rapper). Spellbinder's concept is to play multiple styles of music, in all forms to unite the people in one love in many forms of music.

Kokopelli's moved Spellbinder to Friday nights, a more competitive market night for entertainment...

Spellbinder has been skateboarding since 1980. He skateboarded pro amateur from 1990-1994 with Alva Skateboards. He entered numerous contests with people who are at the top of their game today (Tony Hawk, Christian Hosoi, Ron Allen, Steve Steadham)

Spellbinder still skateboards today, at 40 years old. It helps with his breathing in vocals. He is a true athlete. This increases his health, happiness and performance on stage.

Check out our album artwork on the new album. It was designed Spellbiner and Gary Fielder.
The album has a spiritual meaning to it. The color green symbolizes life. Everything living is green, green life, green plants... The outline, square, is to symbolize the music to transcend the four corners of the world. The red circle symbolizes, "once you start a circle, you must complete it." Spellbinder's grandmother used to tell him this all the time. The phoenix bird symbolizes rising from the ashes; To rise, one must fall. Failure symbolizes greatness, in its own way. Despite all tribulations, we must be able to rise to the occasion.
