Rasta Dave was a guy who tried to help the community by bringing Reggea music to Denver.  He was a music promoter such as Anthony B, Barrington Levy, and many other artists on that equal level.  He also suffered an untimely death.  He was robbed and left for dead...  He had just had a brand new child.  In order to help his family, there were benefit concerts thrown on his behalf.

SoulRuba Cafe was at Colfax and Grant, accross the street from the capitol building.  In early '05-'06, SpellBinder's friend from Senegal, West Africa.  There were numerous parties there.  Different DJs played music from Africa, from Jamaica, from Kenya (Ethiopian Style) and always featured great food.

On this flier with SpellBinder was Preacher Man.  Preacher Man is from Jamaica.  He was an amazing vocalist who still sings to this day.  Negus Dawit is a music producer and an MC as well.  He sings and raps.  His son, by the name of Menelik, is a young skate boarder.  He's a badass.  He's a prodigy.  The kid has talent, and is going to go far.

This was at a time was living in Dallas, TX.  He was working for Fossil watch company as a sales rep.  He took his music from Denver down to Texas, going into different clubs.  First one he went to was called the Royal Rack.  It was a Reggea Club/ Pool Hall.  They had live bands every Friday and Saturday night and SpellBinder DJ'd there every night.  He also did all the sound work.  Here is how he learned how to use soundboards, run sound and work sound, mixing live.

This flier below is from Cal-hari Reggera Club.  It was African owned.  This particular event was a tribute to Garnet Silk.  He was an amazing Reggae artist who died in Jamaica to a fire, an untimely death...
